Course Objectives:
Participants will develop:
- To provide the student with an overall view of the historical milestones in the New Age (period after the French Revolution), with a threefold focus:
- the colonial period and subsequent decolonization in Africa;
- the rivalries and nationalisms of the major powers
- the post WWII period with its quest for a new/different world order

Course Outcomes
- The student should have acquired a good historical insight into international relations, worldwide, but more specifically also in the role Africa played in the concert of nations from pre-colonial times up to independence.
- Comprehend the relevance of cybersecurity to diplomatic work and be able to capitalise on this competence
